That is not what you want to hear from your doctor. I have been waiting to see a specialist to tell me what my options are to correct a post surgical vision problem. The other thing you don’t want to hear is this happens in about 2-3% of people. I mean I guess you want to hear that if someone is talking about lottery odds or winning something. Anything.
So my doctor was saying that IF there was “a problem” then it may be an easy fix, but because my surgery was done perfectly and I still have a problem it means the only fix is a BIG fix.
At this point I just want a fix. I am not sure that I ever really took my vision for granted, but just like being able to get up and walk across a room I didn’t think about it that much. I have just been popping in contacts and going on with my day for the last 33 years.
What I didn’t know is that 25 years ago when I started taking prednisone I was contributing to the development of early cataracts. (Hence the eye surgery.) For most people (97-98%) this is a simple uncomplicated surgery with great results.
The good news is I found a great doctor who has a plan to do the BIG fix. Fingers crossed. 🤞🏽
